Appetites

Emotional satiety

Reactionary avoidance

Dismissal of a lifetime of pain

Turned to satiated contentment

Fake fulfilment

Burped & bloated

Ventilated wails follow the night

Stuff it in puff it out

Where taste & swallow

Seek more and more

Harnessed pleasures

Tools of the tongue

I need do nothing

Save ingest sun light

On an empty beach

Sounds of surf ‘s ride in and out

White crested waves cover

Grief hidden in caves

Cream beneath my collar bone

Knee joints in a twisted baquette

Popcorn nestled in the splintered

Small of my back

Polished black obsidian relief

From a stone heart

Worlds Away in Sync

Electric lime colored insect

Vanished into the forest on my arm

Crawled into wires, towers, cables under oceans

Came face to face with

Worldwide spider web of words

Communication’s catalytic converter

Carbs to sugar running on empty

Land line’s jumbled hymns

Secret songs

Spread the King’s word

Flickered lit candles

Painted sainted icons

Once in sync with spirit’s essence

Whirls like tornados

Taking telephone poles down

Bring it On

Marine estuary

Low tide gazebo

Stonehenge port of Oakland

West coast rocks

Around Goose families

Mother hisses loud

When we step too close

To five soft clumsy furry babies

Small child beguiled by goose poop

Walks barefoot in black sticky sand

Dry engine oil seeped from

Heavy boats and big rig caravans infuse

His soul oblivious to global crisis

Gazes up to elusive moon in mid-day sky

Engaged he is essential to

Humanity’s best self
